This is the 2012 DJ line up. Sweet Soul will continue its policy of Across the Board Soul music. The original venue for this music policy also remains at its spiritual home, Staythorpe Club. We look forward to seeing you in 2012

From Nottingham A46
After the village of Farndon turn left onto the ring road.
Next island take the 4th exit, across the railway lines, straight on at the mini island.
Next island, first exit to the lights then turn right, and right again.
From Lincoln A46
Follow signs for Newark and look for KFC & McDonalds on your right.
Continue along this road past one set of lights. At the next traffic lights turn left then right.
Venue is on the right with a car park at the bottom of the street on the left.

Now its 7.15 on a Sat night and you wanna get off to a new venue to see its first night with friends and fellow music lovers,also hoping to sell a few odds and sods,
Van loaded Linda on Board Shovel and Brush in back Records and cds loaded Brid tickets set, Off we go Newark fog Fog lights on still the road from the house to the main road was treachourous even after half a days rain,
Made it to main road head for A617 first mistake thick fog all the way to the A614 and a convoy behind me at 30 to 40 mph,not bothered safety first and if they can see me Im on the road means they can follow me. Arrive at the dual (1 lane Missing) carriageway at Rainworth had a bit o the white stuff Mansfield way ,keep going Notts county council done there usual fab job clearing the roads (JOKIN) arrive at the turning for Forest Town on Southwell rd pub on corner cars parked in Driveway cant access car park not looking good but yer keep going on troads that are slowlly defrosting arrive at the lights for Clipstone road Junction turn right roads starting to look a little bit slushy turn right off Clipstone rd and go down the road towards first avenue arrive at speed hump and stop wheels going and engine runnin ,stuck glad I had the presence of mind to load shovel and brush ,Hop out with shovel dig myself out and jump in and turn on to First ave after a little bit of back end sway missed a couple of cars and head down to car park not a lot of snow had bin shifted by the rain or other vehicle usage ,crawl into car park back end swinging and stop,Dig myself out again turn in a large circle around the car park in the snow back to entrance drive back up first avenue onto road up hill dig myself out again and onto Clipstone road and call The promoter who says can see you explain what had happened he says s'ok and will see him next time and drive nice and carefully back home All of this is a reminder of my youth and when me mam and Dad would kick us lads out with the brush and shovel to clear the pathways and roads outside our house and also of any oap or disabled people neede and also back then you would have less snow to clear as the snowplough would have been round clearing the snow on the estate roads and the side streets and even around some of the community car parks I believe its too much trouble and too costly for the council and any governing body to allow a bit o common sense to allow people to get out and about,its about i can only do this one thing at this given time as ordered by the "office" or gaffer not about get out and do the job required to get the country doing what it should do best,help each other get on
